About the Liberia Team Partnering with the Ministry of Health since 2007, the Liberia team pioneered the community health worker model that serves as a national blueprint. Originating in the remote Konobo District, their work demonstrated that professional community health workers could drastically increase health-seeking behavior and improve health outcomes, increasing skilled birth attendance from 55% to 84%. Led by Brittney Varpilah , the team champions supervised, salaried, supplied, and skilled workforce to deliver primary care in the country's hardest-to-reach regions. Beyond delivery, they strengthen health systems through high-level advocacy and policy design while upskilling the workforce through rigorous training and continuous quality improvement. The Role At Last Mile Health, we dig data. Do you have extensive experience in data collection? If so, then you may be our next enumerator(s). Reporting to the Project Manager, Clinical Innovations of the Service Delivery Team, the enumerator(s) will be responsible for conducting qualitative interviews using the most significant change methodology, documenting participants' stories of change, maintaining high ethical standards, and contributing to the daily quality assurance process during the field data collection. This role's endline evaluation will use the most significant change approach to capture participants' experiences, identify meaningful changes associated with the project, and generate lessons to inform future program improvement and potential scale-up. This assignment will last for 15 days ONLY. This position is on-site and based in Rivercess County, Liberia, and is only open to candidates who are Liberian nationals currently located in Liberia. What You'll Do Phase 1: Preparation and Training Participate fully in the Endline Evaluation orientation and training workshop. Gain a thorough understanding of MSC methodology, qualitative interviewing techniques, and ethical procedures. Phase 2: Field Data Collection Conduct qualitative interviews with project participants in selected communities. Facilitate participant storytelling using the MSC approach. Record interviews using digital audio equipment and maintain detailed field notes Phase 3: Data Quality Assurance Review completed interviews daily for completeness and quality. Participate in debrief meetings with the evaluation team and identify emerging themes and lessons from collected stories. Flag inconsistencies or gaps requiring follow up and ensure all documentation is accurate, complete, and securely stored. Adhere to all evaluation protocols and quality standards. Phase 4: Documenting and Reporting Transcribe interviews using approved templates and translate interviews into English where required while preserving participants' original meaning. Label and organize transcripts, audio recordings, consent forms, and field notes Participate in preliminary MSC Story Selection Discussion. Submit all completed documentation to the Monitoring, Evaluation, Research, & Learning Specialist according to agreed timelines. What you'll bring: A bachelor's degree in relevant experience in qualitative research, public health, nursing, or community health. Minimum level of formal education/training required: Diploma, Associate Degree You'll impress us if you have Experience conducting qualitative interviews and supporting monitoring, evaluation, research, and learning activities. Experience working in rural or hard-to-reach communities. Familiarity with maternal and child or community health programs. Qualitative interviewing skills, excellent active listening, and probing techniques. Ability to document detailed narratives accurately. Experience using digital audio recorders and smartphones for data collection. Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word. Strong organizational and time management skills. Excellent interpersonal skills, professionalism, integrity, and respect for confidentiality and cultural sensitivity. Strong ethical judgment and attention to detail. Ability to work independently in remote settings and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams. Speak and write English and communicate in local Liberian English. Demonstrate ethical responsibilities: obtaining informed consent prior to every interview, respecting privacy/confidentiality, protecting participant identities, demonstrating empathy, and immediately reporting safeguarding concerns or adverse events according to evaluation protocols.
