Job Title Assistant Legal Counsel Job Level P-6 Vacancy: One (1) position Contract Type: Permanent Department: Legal Section Central Bank of Liberia, corner of Ashmun & Lynch Streets, Location Monrovia, Liberia The Central Bank of Liberia (CBL) is mandated to formulate, implement, and enforce prudential regulations to promote monetary and financial stability, safeguard the financial system and protect consumers. The Assistant Legal Counsel (Regulations) supports the Legal Department in providing Background legal and regulatory advisory support to the Bank, ensuring Information compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies, while safeguarding the legal and regulatory interests of the Central Bank of Liberia. • Assist in drafting, reviewing, and interpreting banking and financial regulations, directives, and internal policies. • Monitor changes in laws, regulations, and international standards affecting the financial sector. • Provide legal advice to Management and departments on regulatory, banking, corporate, Duties & labor, and compliance matters. Responsibilities • Support enforcement actions, regulatory inquiries, of the Position investigations, and audits. • Support contract drafting, review, and legal documentation. • Support corporate governance matters, including Board and committee documentation. • Perform other legal and regulatory duties as assigned. • Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from a recognized institution, LLM in Banking or Financial Law is an Minimum Job advantage. Qualifications & • Valid license to practice law in Liberia Experience • Experience in a central bank, regulatory authority, or reputable law firm is an advantage. • Strong legal research, drafting, and analytical skills. • High ethical standards, integrity, and professionalism.
