The position promotes climate-smart agriculture, Good Agricultural Practices (GAP), soil and water conservation, irrigation, watershed management, and land restoration. The role offers technical support to extension services and stakeholders, coordinates with research institutions and development partners, and contributes to evidence-based planning, monitoring, reporting, and sustainable management of land and water resources. GENERAL MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES: • Provide leadership, coordination, supervision, and technical oversight for the planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of sustainable land and water management programs and activities. • Support the Regional Agriculture Coordinator, County Agriculture Coordinators, and District Agriculture Officers, and extension teams in delivering effective and responsive technical support and advisory services on sustainable land, soil, and water management. • Coordinate with the relevant Ministry departments, Project Implementation Units (PIUs), research institutions, development partners, and other technical stakeholders engaged in land. Soil, water, and natural resource management. • Support the preparation and implementation, and review of annual work plans, budgets, operational plans, progress reports, and other program management documents related to sustainable land and water management. • Monitor implementation progress, identify operational challenges, provide technical recommendations, and support continuous improvement of land and water management programs or projects. 2 a. CORE TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITIES: • Provide technical leadership and specialized advisory support for the planning, implementation, coordination, supervision, and monitoring of sustainable land and water management programs and projects. • Promote the adoption, adaptation, and scaling-up of sustainable land and water management technologies, climate-smart agriculture practices, Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs), soil and water conservation measures, and integrated natural resource management approaches. • Conduct land, soil, and water resource assessments and provide technical recommendations on soil fertility improvement, irrigation and drainage systems, watershed management, erosion control, water harvesting, land restoration, and sustainable agricultural productivity enhancement. • Provide technical guidance and capacity building support to Ministry of Agriculture County Teams, Agricultural Extension and Advisory Services (AEAS) providers, farmer organizations, communities, and other stakeholders to strengthen sustainable land and water management practices, climate resilience, sustainable resource management, and conservation practices. • Collaborate with research institutions, development partners, the private-sector actors, local authorities, and communities to promote sustainable land management, biodiversity conservation, watershed protection, irrigation development, ecosystem restoration, and rehabilitation of degraded agricultural landscapes. • Support the monitoring, evaluation, and assessment of land and water management programs and projects; prepare high-quality technical reports; collaborate with the Regional Monitoring
