SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY The incumbent has no direct supervisory responsibility but provides technical guidance, mentoring, and advisory support to Ministry staff and stakeholders involved in climate-smart agriculture programs or projects. The position supports the Regional Agriculture Coordinator, County Agriculture Coordinators, and District Agriculture Officers in strengthening Agricultural Extension and Advisory Services (AEAS) to promote climate resilience and sustainable agricultural production. The role offers technical guidance, develops climate-informed crop advisories, builds the capacity of extension staff and farmers, and collaborates with key stakeholders to promote adopting climate-smart technologies and practices. GENERAL MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES: • Provide leadership, coordination, supervision, and technical oversight for implementing climate-smart agriculture programs and activities within the assigned region. 2 • Support the Regional Agriculture Coordinator, County Agriculture Coordinators, and District Agriculture Officers in delivering effective Agricultural Extension and Advisory Services (AEAS) on climate-smart agriculture and climate resilience. • Coordinate with Ministry departments, Project Implementation Units (PIUs), research institutions, development partners, and other stakeholders to strengthen climate-smart agriculture initiatives within the assigned region. • Develop climate-smart agriculture implementation strategies and action plans. • Contribute to preparing and implementing annual work plans, budgets, technical reports, and operational plans related to climate-smart agriculture programs and activities. • Facilitate partnerships for Climate-Smart Agriculture innovation and knowledge sharing. b. CORE TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITIES: • Provide technical guidance on climate-smart agriculture practices and technologies. • Design season specific crop advisories for the value chains in the region to enhance the effectiveness and accuracy of the advisories over time. • Document challenges, propose remedial or mitigation measures, and update crop advisories based on the weather condition and local ecological situation. • Support the dissemination of crop specific advisory service to farmers, farmer organizations, and extension service providers on extreme weather conditions. • Provide technical support on climate-smart agriculture practices at demo-sites and farmer field schools. • Develop indicators for climate-smart agriculture interventions. • Design and conduct training for extension staff, farmer groups, and project staff. DUTY STATION: Applicants must indicate the Regional Office for which they are applying. The Ministry of Agriculture has five Regional Offices. Region 1 - Tubmanburg (Bomi County); Region 2 - Gbarnga (Bong County); Region 3 - Buchanan (Grand Bassa County); Region 4 - Zwedru (Grand Gedeh County); and Region 5 - Barclayville (Grand Kru County). MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIRED FOR THE POSITION a. Education: Minimum of a Master's degree in Climate-Smart Agriculture, Climate Change, Agriculture, Agronomy, Agroecology, Environmental Science or a related field. b. Prior Work Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in climate-smart agriculture, climate change adaptation, agricultural and natural resource management. c.
