LR_Operator - Plant (396871) Yekepa, Nimba, Liberia and 1 more Trending Job Description Duties and Responsibilities / KPI's 1. Operate the Metso DSO plant: o Operate the Metso plant equipment's Crushers, feeder, screen and stacker to ensure proper crushing and screening of DSO Ore. (According to supervisor allocation) o Monitor material feed to the classifier and ensure smooth, consistent flow of material through the system. o Maintain very good housekeeping standard, o Clean equipment's and working area regularly for any spillage. 2. Routine Field Inspections: o Ensure that the equipment is clean, free from blockages, and running smoothly throughout operations. o Report any wear or damage that may require maintenance attention. o Maintain very good housekeeping standard report if housekeeping is not conducted before handing over to next shift. 3. Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: o Identify minor operational issues or inefficiencies, such as blockages, poor separation, or equipment malfunctions, and take appropriate corrective actions. o Communicate with the control room and maintenance teams for more complex issues requiring technical support or equipment repair. o Maintain a proactive approach to troubleshooting to minimize downtime and maintain continuous processing. 4. Safety and Compliance: o Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and guidelines while working in the field, including the use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). o Monitor environmental compliance, particularly regarding water usage and dust control within the field area. o Actively identify and report any safety hazards, potential risks, or non-compliance issues. 5. Documentation and Reporting: o Maintain daily records of classifier performance, operational settings, and any adjustments made during the shift. o Document any issues or irregularities observed during operations and provide reports to the supervisor or control room. o Communicate shift handover details and ensure the incoming operator is fully briefed on any ongoing issues or adjustments. 6. Collaboration and Communication: o Work closely with other field operators, maintenance teams, and the control room to ensure that operations are running smoothly. o Provide feedback and updates to the control room on classifier performance and any issues that may arise in the field. o Participate in team meetings to discuss operational performance and suggest improvements where necessary. Qualifications / Experience / Knowledge • High school diploma or equivalent (technical certification in process operations, mechanical, or a related field is a plus). • Prior experience in field operations within mineral processing, particularly DSO processing or similar equipment, is preferred. • Familiarity with the operation of Metso Plant or other Crushing and screening equipment in an industrial or processing environment. • Knowledge of safety protocols and environmental regulations in the field operations. Core Competencies / Skills • Strong understanding of process operations and field equipment management, particularly in dry ore processing. • Ability to adjust operational parameters based on real-time performance data. • Good communication skills to collaborate with team members, maintenance personnel, and the control room. • Mechanical aptitude to identify minor faults or inefficiencies and perform troubleshooting tasks. • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate operational logs. • Ability to work in an outdoor or industrial environment, potentially exposed to noise, dust, and varying weather conditions. • Capability to perform field-based duties, including standing for long periods, lifting equipment, and conducting routine inspections. • Comfortable working with large machinery and in confined spaces when necessary. Follow established safe work practices and procedures to prevent accidents, injuries, or illnesses. 1.8. Operate machinery, tools, and equipment safely, following manufacturer's instructions and the AML safety guidelines. 1.9. Maintain a clean and orderly workspace to reduce hazards and prevent accidents. 1.9.1. Promote a culture of health and safety awareness among coworkers by encouraging safe behaviors and reporting unsafe conditions. 1.9.2. Participate in health and safety committees or meetings as required, providing input and suggestions for improving workplace safety. 1.9.3.
