We are looking for a skilled and dedicated Community Relations Officer to join Energicity DBA Starlight Energy Liberia to oversee and manage customer service activities within assigned communities. This position will help support the growth of our market development, operations, engineering, construction, and support teams to bring our electrification services to more than 100,000 customers in several African countries over the next 5 years. Our goal is to deliver high-quality solar mini-grids that ensure our customers have light in their homes and electricity services that help their communities thrive through: Better health services through access to more modern healthcare equipment, vaccines, and light for night activities, Notable improvements in primary and secondary education, New opportunities for rural entrepreneurs and smallholder farmers. THE COMPANY'S CORE VALUES ARE: Excellence and Integrity Learning and Innovation Teamwork Customer-Centricity JOB TITLE: Community Relations Officer LOCATION: Bopulu, Gbarpolu County, Liberia JOB SUMMARY: The Junior Community Manager is responsible for coordinating customer service activities, ensuring accessible and effective issue resolution while fostering positive customer relationships. The role involves efficient revenue collection, distributor support, service marketing, customer education, and community engagement to expand the company's reach. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the direct supervision of the Customer Operations Lead, the Junior Community Manager is expected to perform the following tasks: Deliver high-quality customer service by ensuring accessibility and prompt resolution of customer issues. Foster positive relationships with customers to enhance satisfaction and loyalty. Implement efficient processes to collect revenue from customers. Strategize and execute plans to minimize customer payment delinquencies. Oversee local distributors within the assigned communities. Provide training, guidance, and support to ensure distributors meet performance goals. Promote the company's services to increase awareness and utilization. Educate customers on how to maximize the benefits of the company's offerings. Actively engage with communities to identify and onboard new customers. Collaborate with local stakeholders to broaden the reach and impact of the company's services. Perform any additional duties assigned by the supervisor QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE/TECHNICAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Qualification required : Minimum requirement is a Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Development Studies, Business Administration and Management, or any related field of study from a recognized college or university. Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of demonstrated experience in roles involving revenue collection, distributor support, service marketing, customer education, and community engagement, ideally within solar off-grid or rural electrification projects. Technical Skills & Abilities: Excellent reporting, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders, including community members and project partners. Commitment to safety, integrity, and environmental sustainability in all aspects of work. Flexibility to travel frequently to rural communities and work in challenging environments with limited resources. Fluency in English; proficiency in local languages spoken in Sierra Leone is a plus. Competent in using MS Word, MS Excel, and PowerPoint presentations, Experience working in a cross-cultural environment; Ability to work under stressful conditions and adapt to local culture and situations; Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
